About Robert M. Neeld
Hello. My name is Robert Neeld. I am a Candidate for United States House of Representatives in Florida’s 19th Congressional District. I am not a man of fabulous wealth. I am a working man, just like you.
I was born in Tampa, but I have lived in Lee County since I was nine months old. My Father was a wholesale hardware salesman. My Mother was a kindergarten teacher and librarian. I have been self-employed for over 30 years as a record keeper and tax preparer. I work hard every day and I know the struggles you face to provide for your family.
Southwest Florida is my home. I love Southwest Florida. I am asking you to elect me as your representative in Washington, DC. I know the issues that are important to you and I want to work hard on your behalf to settle those issues and make your lives better. Please vote for me on November 8.
Walking the district
In 1970, a little-known Florida State Senator from Lakeland decided he wanted to run for United States Senate. In order to call attention to his campaign and introduce himself to citizens of the entire state, he embarked on a walk from Pensacola to Key West.
Lawton Chiles earned the moniker “Walkin’ Lawton”, and in so doing was elected to the United States Senate. He was subsequently re-elected to the Senate two more times. His statesmanship earned him the respect of the voters in Florida and he was twice elected to the Governor’s Mansion.
I admire Lawton Chiles’ statesmanship and the representation and public service he provided to the citizens of the State of Florida. With deep respect and in memory of his journey, I am planning to walk Florida’s 19th Congressional District.
On Saturday, September 10, 2016, I will embark on a journey of my own. I plan to leave the United States Post Office on Barrancas Avenue in Bokeelia. Over the course of the next five weekends, I hope to walk all the way to the United States Post Office on East Elkam Circle in Marco Island.
Along the way, I will be available to talk to you about the issues that are important to you. I will be dining in local restaurants and highlighting the efforts of small business in Southwest Florida.
If you would like to meet with me and discuss those issues that are important to you, please meet me along the route, which will be posted here along with progress reports.
